How is aluminium foil produced?
Aluminium foil is created in a multi-step rolling process from industrially produced aluminium. Liquid aluminium is cast into large blocks and rolled in several stages to form increasingly thinner strips. Extremely thin foils are produced using a double-rolling method, resulting in a flexible, tear-resistant and light-impermeable material suitable for many uses.
Korff AG further processes these semi-finished goods into premium rolls, sheets and custom formats.
What does it mean that Korff is a converter?
As a converter, Korff AG refines aluminium foil sourced from selected rolling mills. We cut, laminate, emboss or print foil according to specific client needs – for example, as label blanks, laminated composites or printed packaging materials.

Where is aluminium foil used?
This is due to the double-rolling process: two sheets are rolled together. The sides in contact with the rollers become shiny, while the inner sides remain matte.
Both sides have identical technical properties. With Korff products, this distinction is mostly visual unless a specific coating or print is applied to one side.
Yes, aluminium foil is 100% recyclable. Recycling requires significantly less energy than producing primary aluminium. Korff AG actively supports circular economy practices by using recyclable materials and composites.
When sorted properly, aluminium can be reused countless times without loss of quality.
The base material is aluminium, which is industrially extracted from bauxite. After chemical refinement, aluminium oxide is obtained and then transformed into pure aluminium through an electrolysis process. The resulting metal is rolled into strips and further processed into foil.
Korff AG does not produce raw aluminium but focuses on converting certified aluminium foils.
